For its launch, Ligue 1+, the new channel that broadcasts live and exclusive coverage of eight matches from each day of the French soccer championship, has opted for mass distribution. By multiplying solutions for its subscribers, the platform aims to be accessible to as many people as possible. Among them are fans who prefer to subscribe directly from their smart TV. But which brands already offer the app?

A spectacular launch

Launched in a hurry due to a difficult economic context caused by the rights acquisition crisis, the Ligue 1+ channel promises to be an accessible platform designed with fans in mind. Clearly, expectations have been met. Nicolas de Tavernost, Managing Director of LFP Media, already boasts over 600,000 subscribers after the first weekend of the competition. This is a promising result, given that the former M6 boss has announced a target of one million subscribers by the end of the season in June 2026. However, many fans are still waiting for their smart TVs to be upgraded to provide simplified access to the new channel.

Which smart TVs have the Ligue 1+ app?

When Ligue 1+ was launched on August 15, 2025, Samsung appeared to be the only TV manufacturer to offer the platform in its app catalog. This update applies to all smart TVs from 2021 and onwards.

The Samsung TQ43QN90F Neo QLED TV, with Mini-LED backlighting and Glare-Free treatment, is one of the TVs to directly offer the Ligue 1+ app in its catalog.

Since then, LG has joined the still restricted circle of TV manufacturers offering the Ligue 1+ app in their catalogs. Since August 19, 2025, the South Korean brand has announced the availability of the platform in France on LG Smart TVs from 2021 onwards.

“This initiative is part of LG’s commitment to offering its users premium French content directly on its webOS platform, for an ever richer and more immersive TV experience,” details the press release. In addition, the brand is pleased to offer an optimal experience to LG smart TV owners: “LG reaffirms its ambition to accompany French TV viewers in their passion for soccer, by offering local, exclusive content accessible to all from the comfort of their living room”.

For Samsung and LG smart TVs, the subscription price remains the same:

  • Pass Avantage package priced at €9.99/month for 3 months, then €14.99/month for 9 months (12-month minimum). This package allows two simultaneous connections.
  • Grand Public offer at €14.99/month with 12-month minimum, or €19.99/month without a contract, which can be canceled at any time.
  • Pass Mobile offer at €14.99/month, reserved for smartphones, tablets and computers.
  • Pass Jeune (under 26) offer at €9.99/month, limited to one user.

What other subscription solutions are there?

As well as subscribing directly to Samsung and LG smart TVs, there are a number of other solutions for soccer fans, some of which are even more affordable.

For example, streaming platform Prime Video has partnered with LFP Media to offer a €12.99/month subscription with a 12-month commitment, with no obligation to subscribe to Prime. Even better, DAZN is launching an exclusive promotion until August 31, 2025, with a monthly subscription at €9.99 for the first three months, then €14.99/month (12-month minimum). DAZN also lets you follow the Italian and Belgian leagues, as well as the French basketball championship.

Prime Video, SAZN, RMC Sport and Mototov TV offer Ligue 1+ subscriptions

For its part, RMC Sport is also running an introductory offer until August 31 at €15/month for 12 months, then €19/month with a one-year commitment, to take advantage of the Ligue 1+ platform as well as over 200 live combat sports events (MMA, boxing, judo, kickboxing, Muay Thai and grappling).

There’s another promotion to be discovered via Molotov TV. Until August 31, the service is offering a monthly subscription at €13.75/month with two simultaneous screens and a 12-month commitment. After this period, the bill rises to €19.99/month, although this package can be canceled at any time.

Telecoms operators also offer a solution for accessing the Ligue 1+ platform. The channel can be added to the TV packages of Orange (channel 53 in mainland France and 62 in French overseas departments and territories), Bouygues (channel 57), SFR (channel 118) and Free (channel 37), billed directly via the Internet subscription.

Subscriptions can also be taken out directly on the Ligue 1+ website. The new platform dedicated to French soccer is accessible via OTT, just like Netflix or Disney+, for example, directly on ligue1plus.fr and via the official app. The latter includes the four different offers also available for smart TV subscriptions.

Expert's note
OTT stands for over-the-top. It's a term used for media services that broadcast content directly via the Internet, without going through traditional TV networks (such as DTTV, cable or satellite). Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video are OTT services. In the context of Ligue 1+, this means that the platform is accessible online, on computers, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs, and is not dependent on any specific TV operator or Internet service provider. Here, content is delivered directly to users via an app or website.
