The Shokz OpenFit Air open earbuds have been updated to Version 2, featuring a lighter and more compact design, improved battery life, and a new acoustic architecture. These wireless earbuds retain their air-conduction technology, with a design that sits in front of the ear canal, allowing you to remain aware of your surroundings.
More compact and up to 36 hours of battery life
Each earbud now weighs 7.2 g, compared to 8.7 g for the first-generation OpenFit Air—a 17.2% reduction. The ear hook features a 0.75 mm nickel-titanium alloy structure and is curved to fit the shape of the ear. The charging case has also been updated: the combined unit consisting of the earbuds and their case is now 10.5% more compact and 17.6% lighter, with a total weight of 60.8 g. In addition, the earbuds are IP55-certified, while the case is IP54-certified.
The Shokz OpenFit Air 2 offers up to 8 hours of listening time on a single charge, compared to about 6 hours for the previous generation. With the charging case, the total battery life is 36 hours, compared to about 28 hours previously. A 10-minute quick charge also provides up to 3 hours of playback. A full charge takes about 60 minutes for the earbuds and 100 minutes for the buds and case.
Powerful bass and pressure-sensitive controls
The audio system is based on proprietary Bassphere technology, consisting of two 11.8 mm transducers. According to Shokz, this configuration delivers audio performance comparable to that of a 16 mm circular driver. The OpenBass 2.0 algorithm enhances the depth and texture of the bass, while DirectPitch focuses the sound more directly toward the ear. The advertised frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a sensitivity of 97.5 dB and compatibility with the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs.
The Shokz app offers four preset equalizer settings: Standard, Vocal, Enhanced Bass, and Private, as well as two customizable profiles. For calls, the earbuds combine a dual-microphone system with an AI-powered noise-reduction algorithm to make voices stand out more clearly in noisy environments.
The Shokz OpenFit Air 2 open earphones feature pressure-sensitive buttons that allow you to control playback directly from each earbud. Shokz has refined their functionality to improve control accuracy during everyday use or while exercising, especially when exposed to sweat, water droplets, or contact with hair.
Three color options and Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity
Available since August 24, 2026, for 139 euros, the Shokz OpenFit Air 2 wireless earbuds come in three colors: black, white, and glacier blue. They feature Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity, with a claimed range of up to 10 meters, as well as a multipoint feature that allows you to connect two devices simultaneously and easily switch between them. The earbuds also support Google Fast Pair on Android 11 and later, and Microsoft Swift Pair on Windows 10 and later.

The Shokz OpenFit Pro is the most feature-rich model in the lineup. Its 11 x 20 mm dual-diaphragm transducer covers a frequency response ranging from 80 Hz to 40 kHz and works with OpenBass 2.0. They also support Dolby Atmos with head-tracking and feature active noise cancelling specifically tailored to their open-ear design. Bluetooth 6.1 with multipoint connectivity offers up to 12 hours of battery life per charge and 50 hours with the charging case. Three AI-optimized microphones ensure clear calls, and the earbuds are IP55-certified.

The Shokz OpenFit 2 Plus feature the same design and dual-transducer architecture as the OpenFit 2, with DirectPitch 2.0 and OpenBass 2.0. This version primarily adds Dolby Audio compatibility as well as Qi wireless charging for the case. The earbuds weigh 9.4 g, are IP55-rated, and offer up to 11 hours of battery life per charge, or 48 hours with the charging case. Bluetooth 5.4 supports multipoint connectivity, allowing you to connect to two sources simultaneously. The Shokz app also provides access to equalization and several DSP modes.
