Dual 9″ drivers
The SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution uses a dual 9″ driver to maximize the emissive surface and acoustic pressure while retaining its compact size. They are mounted in a force balanced opposing configuration, where each driver moves in the opposite direction to the other, mechanically canceling out the reaction forces generated by the cones’ movements. In practice, this means almost total elimination of unwanted enclosure vibrations. The enclosure remains perfectly stable, even at high volume, which directly improves bass precision. Working together, the two transducers displace a greater volume of air than a single driver of the same size while maintaining perfect excursion control. The result is a deep, powerful and perfectly controlled bass down to 20 Hz.
Up to 1,200 W RMS
To efficiently power this dual driver, the SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution subwoofer uses new-generation Class D amplification delivering 1,200 watts RMS and over 4,000 watts peak. High-current MOSFET transistors drive the drivers with remarkable precision, even at very high levels.
The power supply uses switch mode power supply modules to deliver a perfectly stable voltage whatever the conditions of use. The result is bass that’s always tight and controlled. Distortion remains extremely low, at less than 0.05% THD+N, while the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 120 dB. This combination guarantees incredibly clean low frequencies.
Ultra-powerful DSP as the brain of the system
The heart of the system is an Analog Devices DSP processor clocked at 295 MHz, offering five times the computing power of previous generations. Combined with 56-bit double-precision filtering, it controls every parameter of the subwoofer in real time. This DSP constantly analyzes cone excursion, voltage, and current to optimize the reproduction at every moment. It orchestrates all internal processing such as frequency response management (equalization, low-pass filter, phase, etc.), thermal and current protection in real time, while ensuring perfect acoustic linearity.
Mobile app and acoustic calibration
With its compact dimensions, the SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution fits seamlessly into any interior, whether it’s a living room or a dedicated home theater. Installation is made easy by the mobile app for iOS and Android. In addition to basic settings such as volume, low-pass filter, phase and polarity, you can manage the power supply and activate one of six presets. A memory function saves up to three different configurations, enabling specific settings for hi-fi and home theater listening sessions. Better still, the subwoofer will soon be able to use the microphone of the smartphone running the app to perform acoustic calibration, automatically optimizing the reproduction according to the room and listening position.
RCA, LFE and XLR inputs
The SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution subwoofer features an unbalanced RCA line-level input that can be switched to an LFE input, plus a balanced XLR input. As a result, it can be easily combined with any hi-fi amplifier or AV receiver equipped with a pre-out or subwoofer output. In addition, an RCA output can be used to connect a second subwoofer. Finally, the subwoofer can be automatically activated when a signal is received or via its trigger input.
