You have come to appreciate the freedom a pair of Bluetooth headphones, connected wirelessly to your smartphone or laptop computer, has to offer.

But did you know that you can also listen to music or listen to a TV program wirelessly, using Bluetooth headphones or a remote wireless Bluetooth speaker?

How it works

All you need to do is connect a wireless Bluetooth transmitter, such as the Marmitek BoomBoom 50 or Marmitek BoomBoom 55, to your TV?s headphone output or to your hi-fi or home cinema system.

L'émetteur Bluetooth Marmitek BoomBoom 50 est ici relié à la sortie casque de l'ampli Yamaha RX-V679. Il est alimenté par le port USB de l'ampli et appairé au casque sans fil BeoPlay H7.

The transmitter, powered by the receiver?s USB port, is associated with a pair of BeoPlay H7 wireless headphones. Any audio file played by the receiver is thus wirelessly transmitted to the headphones.

Once the transmitter is connected to the headphone socket and its power supply is assured (USB port or mains adapter), you only need to activate the Bluetooth connection with your Bluetooth headphones or speaker to enjoy all your music wirelessly.

Les émetteurs Bluetooth Marmitek BoomBoom 50 et Marmitek BoomBoom 55 nécessiteront un adapteur mini-jack vers jack 6,35 mm pour la sortie casque des amplis hi-fi et home-cinéma
In order to connect the Marmitek BoomBoom 50 or Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter to the 6.35 mm jack input of your home cinema amplifier or hi-fi network stereo receiver, you?ll need a mini-jack adaptor.

If your stereo system or amplifier features a USB port and a headphone input, the Marmitek BoomBoom 50 Bluetooth transmitter is the easiest solution to adopt: you?ll only need to connect the headphone output from your source device to the transmitter?s mini-jack input (you may need a 6.35 mm-to-mini-jack adapter), power the transmitter via the USB port, and launch the Bluetooth connection with your headphones.

Les émetteurs Bluetooth Marmitek BoomBoom 50 et Marmitek BoomBoom 55 peuvent être alimenté sur un port USB 5V.
The Marmitek BoomBoom 50 and Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitters can be powered via a 5V USB port.

If your audio source is not equipped with a USB port, the Marmitek BoomBoom 50 Bluetooth transmitter can also be powered by an external USB power charger (5V, 500mA, not included) thanks to the included USB extension cable.

If your audio source is not fitted with a headphone output, or if you find it more esthetically pleasing, you can also use the RCA audio output situated at the back of your stereo system or amplifier (this output is also called Line Out, Pre Out or Zone Out, depending on the device). In this case, you?ll need to use the RCA-to-mini-jack audio cable (provided), or another model of your choice (an SVD Pro Mini-Jack/RCA cable, for example).

With the Marmitek BoomBoom 55

The Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter carries out the same tasks as the Marmitek BoomBoom 50 Bluetooth transmitter, yet offers a few added bonuses: the BoomBoom 55 is compatible with the apt-X audio codec, which is of a higher quality than the standard SBC codec (a pair of apt-X-compatible headphones or an apt-X-compatible Bluetooth speaker is required). The BoomBoom 55 is also compatible with the apt-X Low Latency audio codec which reduces delay during audio signal transmission via Bluetooth (your headphones or Bluetooth speaker must be compatible with the apt-X Low Latency codec). The apt-X Low Latency codec has a particularly beneficial effect on video content as it is known for keeping audio and video data streams synchronized. The Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter is thus especially well-adapted for films, TV series and video games.

What?s more, the Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter can be simultaneously associated with two pairs of wireless Bluetooth headphones. Practical for listening to a program with a friend without bothering those around you.

In addition to its mini-jack analog audio input, the Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter features two digital audio inputs: one coaxial (Cinch/RCA connector) and the other optical (Toslink connector). The transmitter can thus be connected to the headphone output or RCA output of your stereo system or amplifier, as well as to the digital audio output of any compatible device (CD player, Internet radio, TV, video game console, etc.).

Important! The Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter is not compatible with Dolby Digital and DTS audio formats, but only handles PCM stereo audio files (16/44.1). You must thus adjust the optical output of the connected device accordingly, or else risk having no audio output or very unpleasant crackling?

Depending on the type of connections available on your audio device, you can choose from a mini-jack to mini-jack adapter, RCA to mini-jack adapter, digital coaxial audio cable or digital optical audio cable.

The Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter is powered via its micro-USB port by either connecting the power cable to a USB port or using the included mains adapter.

BONUS !

The Marmitek BoomBoom 50 and Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitters can also be used to stream audio from your stereo system or TV to a wireless Bluetooth speaker! Or, even better, to two Bluetooth speakers or to a pair of Bluetooth headphones and a Bluetooth speaker simultaneously with the Marmitek BoomBoom 55 Bluetooth transmitter, as it allows a dual Bluetooth connection (maximum range of approximately 12 meters).

As a buyer and seller of second-hand high-tech products for around ten years before joining Son-Vidéo.com in 2007, I had the opportunity to test a variety of amplifiers, speakers, headphones, TVs, projectors and DAPs... Passionate about films and series, music and new technologies, I'm particularly fond of the worlds of TV, video projection and home theater. I like to watch films with my family on the big screen, either at the movie theater or at home, but I also enjoy listening to music on a good hi-fi system, sat in a comfy armchair or on a walk with a pair of headphones.
