Held every year since 1989, AVHUB’s Sound+Image Awards ceremony awards the best products of the previous year. The Sound+Image Awards includes the following categories:
- Televisions
- Sources (CD players, Blu-ray players, network media players, and digital sources)
- Hi-fi amplifiers and A/V receivers
- Speakers, wireless speakers, and multiroom systems
- Products for custom installations
New categories are regularly added to accurately reflect the current situation of the world of hi-fi and home theater. This is the case for categories such as:
In order to award the very best products, the criteria taken into account are:
- Sound and/or picture quality
- Value for money
- Features
- Build quality
- Design
- Ease of use and ergonomics
Unlike many press awards, no inscription fee is necessary for the Sound+Image Awards, and all products tested during the preceding 12 months by the magazines affiliated with AVHUB (Sound+Image, Australian Hi-Fi, Australian Incar, Audio Esoterica and Best Buys Audio & AV) can participate.
The selected products are chosen entirely on the basis of their performance.
