The new Sony Bravia XR 2023 4K TVs are embodied in the A80L OLED, A95L QD-OLED, X95L Mini LED and X90L Full Array LED series (LED array covering the entire back of the LCD panel). What are the main features and innovations? How are these new ranges presented? We answer these questions in this article.
2023 Sony Bravia XR TV: captivating pictures and even more immersive sound
The new Sony Bravia XR 2023 televisions feature an updated version of the latest Cognitive Processor XR. It uses the new XR Clear Image technology, which improves noise reduction and motion clarity by reducing blur. Action scenes are clearer and more precise so that no details are missed during movies and sports.
The Cognitive Processor XR also improves backlight control on the Sony X95L Mini LED and X90L Full Array TV ranges. Improved management of local dimming zones, increased brightness and reduced glare optimize the display of HDR content.
Each new Sony Bravia XR series features the exclusive Acoustic Center Sync technology, which synchronizes the television’s audio system with the center channel of a compatible Sony soundbar. This way, you can enjoy an impressive audio and video experience from the comfort of your home. To achieve an even more captivating sound immersion, the new 2023 Sony Bravia XR TVs can be paired with Sony soundbars. You can therefore benefit from 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, an exclusvie Sony system that generates virtual drivers and optimizes the sound field, similar to what the Sony HT-A9 wireless home theater does with only 4 speakers.
The new Sony X95L range benefits from Acoustic Multi-Audio+, with drivers that distribut the sound in different directions to enhance immersion. The Sony A95L and Sony A80L models are equipped with Acoustic Surface Audio+. The screen becomes a driver offering an optimal audio reproduction: the sound the sound radiates from the entire panel and is ideally projected in front of the viewers.
2023 Sony Bravia XR TVs: gaming optimizations
Sony’s new Bravia XR 2023 TV lineup gives gamers the ultimate gaming experience with PlayStation 5. Exclusive features like Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode ensure perfect picture quality for gaming and streaming. A new gaming menu also makes its appearance, bringing together various settings options in the same interface. For example, gamers can quickly enable or disable VRR or Motion Blur Reduction.
It is also possible to reduce the display surface of the screen when you are very close to the TV (when it is placed on a desk, for example). A crosshair in the center of the screen optimizes the user experience in shooter games. A black equalizer, specific image modes according to the type of game (FPS/RTS, racing…) and a multiple view mode (on the A95L range) are also included.
2023 Sony Bravia XR TV: Bravia Core, Crunchyroll, eco-design
As for streaming, in addition to the Bravia Core service (4K UHD and IMAX Enhanced streaming movies), which is still available for 12 or 24 months depending on the TV range, the Crunchyroll service, which specializes in anime and was acquired by Sony in 2020, has been added. The remote control has a direct access button, alongside those for Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube and YouTube Music.
Finally, the Japanese manufacturer aims to reduce the carbon footprint of its new Sony 2023 TV ranges. The Sony X80L series is no exception, using a significant amount of recycled plastic materials, notably SORPLAS. Made from recycled water bottles and scrap optical discs, it is used to make the rear cover of Sony TVs. The new ECO control center also reduces the TV’s power consumption without affecting the picture quality. As for packaging, the size has been reduced to optimize logistics and transportation.
“Sony’s new BRAVIA TVs are made for Entertainment: whether you’re a sports fan, a movie buff or a gamer, BRAVIA is the best choice,” said Florent Matray, TV group manager at Sony France. “The new models fulfill our no-compromise vision and build on Sony’s decades of experience in TV, movies and gaming.”
Unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn’t yet disclosed prices for the new 2023 Sony Bravia XR televisions.
