In the middle of a promotional tour for his new film John Wick Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves has inspired scientists. Indeed, they have just discovered the miraculous properties of a new bacterium. As effective in protecting humans as it is in protecting crops, scientists have chosen to name it Keanumycin.

Keanu Reeves' name inspired scientists to name a new molecule.
Accustomed to portraying brave warriors, Keanu Reeves has inspired scientists. The latter paid tribute to the Canadian actor by naming a molecule after him to fight fungi that are dangerous to humans and plants!

The researchers, authors of the study, explain that it is a tribute to the actor who has portrayed many combative characters in movies, such as John Wick and Neo in The Matrix. Like him, the newly discovered molecule is an intractable shield for humans and plants. Keanumycin fights against fungi that are dangerous to humans, such as Candida albicans. Better still, this molecule eliminates Botrytis cinerea, a parasitic fungus that attacks more than 200 species of fruit and vegetables and is responsible for the destruction of many harvests each year.

With this homage, Keanu Reeves has probably been hired for the most unexpected role of his career. A prophet in The Matrix or a relentless hitman in John Wick, he is now the savior of humanity, yet there is little chance that his exploits will ever be seen on the big screen. Coming from a sports background, I decided to join the Son-Vidéo.com adventure in 2022 to develop my appreciation for the world of audio and home theater. Curious about cinema and music, I'm constantly on the lookout for technical innovations to enhance my experience. While I'm drawn to all kinds of cultural activities, I'm particularly fond of live performances (improv, stand-up shows, etc.). As a result, I spend my free time in stadiums, concert halls, cinemas and theaters, depending on what's happening in Nantes... and the weather! Above all, I like to share these experiences with friends and family, so that we can share our different opinions.
