Bang & Olufsen expands its line of portable Bluetooth speakers with the B&O Beosound A5. Developed in collaboration with the Italian-Danish studio GamFratesi, this speaker has a unique design mixing Scandinavian minimalism and Italian elegance. Beyond its sleek appearance, the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 portable speaker incorporates all the latest streaming technologies (AirPlay 2, Beolink multi-room, Chromecast) and wireless connections (WiFi 6 and Bluetooth).

Beosound A5, 360° sound diffusion
With 280 watts, the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 is the Danish manufacturer’s most powerful portable speaker. Indeed, it is equipped with a 5.2″ woofer, associated with a 1″ tweeter and two 2″ rear-firing midbass drivers. These four drivers are powered by as many class D amplifiers. Thanks to this unique design, the Beosound A5 portable Bluetooth speaker provides 360-degree sound distribution. So you can enjoy a clear and accurate listening experience wherever you are in the room.

The Beosound A5 portable speaker, designed for streaming
With no connectors, the Beosound A5 portable Bluetooth speaker relies entirely on its wireless compatibility. Equipped with a Bluetooth 5.2 receiver, it can read files stored in the internal memory of a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer. This new B&O release can join the local network with its WiFi 6 connectivity and supports AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Beolink Multiroom technologies to integrate a group of speakers or multi-room devices. The Mozart software platform allows two B&O Beosound A5 portable speakers (or a Beosound A5 and another Mozart-compatible B&O speaker) to be wirelessly paired. This stereo pairing provides an even more immersive experience. Designed on a modular principle, the Mozart platform allows you to upgrade and improve your speaker to be compatible with future updates of the brand.
A design mixing nostalgia and modernity
Available in two finishes, the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 portable Bluetooth speaker stands out with its unique look. Its design is inspired by the success of the Beolit series and in particular the B&O Beolit 20 portable speaker. “The Beosound A5 is our new high-end portable speaker that combines Bang & Olufsen’s knowledgeable approach to timeless design with our vision of the sound of the future,” says Michael Henriksson, vice president of product marketing.

Developed in collaboration with the design duo GamFratesi, the speaker is offered in two colors. The first, in grey aluminum, is adorned with a natural woven fiber finish and an oak handle that evoke Scandinavian summers at the beach. The black aluminum and dark oak version is reminiscent of the colors of winter forests in the north of the continent. “From the traditional Panama hats worn on the beach to the hand-woven leather details of 1960s Danish chairs, experimentally applied blends of natural materials have guided our creative journey,” says the GamFratesi duo.

Beosound A5, a versatile speaker
The Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 portable Bluetooth speaker shows great versatility. With its 12-hour battery life and handle, it can go anywhere. Even better, its IP65 certification ensures resistance to water and dust. This portable speaker can therefore diffuse a musical atmosphere in the summer on your terrace or by the pool. The B&O Beosound A5 is also nomadic. Very practical, an induction charger to recharge your smartphone when you are outside, completes the picture. Your smartphone is therefore always charged so you can enjoy your music when you’re out and about.
In addition to its timeless appearance, the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 portable speaker has a modular design. The manufacturer’s goal is to be able to easily maintain and repair the speaker to extend its lifespan if necessary. Bang & Olufsen will continue to offer easily interchangeable front panels in new materials and colors so that the Beosound A5 can evolve with the style and identity of its user. While is not Cradle-to-Cradle certified like the B&O Beosound Level connected speaker, the wood used comes from Denmark. The Raffia finish model is sold for €999, count €1,099 for the version in dark oak.
