Good news for fans who were saddened by the legendary duo’s separation in 2021: Daft Punk have just shared a previously unreleased track, called “The Writing of Fragments in Time”!
The first track from the special 10th anniversary edition of the album Random Access Memories, “The Writing of Fragments in Time” is a documentary track that explores the writing and recording of “Fragments of Time”, a collaboration between Daft Punk and Todd Edwards.
According to the press release accompanying the announcement of the song’s release, it is a nod to Daft Punk’s track “Giorgio by Moroder”, in which the legendary Italian musician and composer talks about his creative process and his rise to fame. “The Writing of Fragments in Time” was recorded at the legendary Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles on February 29, 2012. During more than eight minutes, Thomas Bangalter and house icon Todd Edwards produce the track and put together a few lines for the second verse.

This reissue will be available in LP and CD formats, as well as streaming and download. In addition, the record will be mixed in Dolby Atmos for the first time. It will most likely be available on Apple Music and Amazon Music.
