I tested the Aurzen Boom Air projector in our editorial office, streaming content onto a white wall and playing games on the PS5. By placing the projector at a distance of approximately 1.2 to 1.80 meters, I was able to achieve an image size of approximately 42 to 65 inches (106 to 165 cm).
The initial setup of the projector begins with the software configuration, starting with pairing the remote control via Bluetooth. Next, you must configure the Wi-Fi connection to the local network and then sync the projector with the user’s Google account.
Once these steps are complete, the projector is ready to use. The Boom Air’s tilting stand makes it easy to adjust the projection beam to display the image on a wall or ceiling. Sensors on the front of the projector detect the proximity of the projection surface and adjust the image’s aspect ratio and sharpness almost instantly. Although this projector’s automatic keystone correction is very convenient to use, it’s best to turn it off to ensure the highest possible image quality. To straighten the edges of the picture, this feature relies on digital correction that reduces the effective projection area. The number of pixels actually used decreases as a result, leading to lower resolution and less detail on the screen.
In addition, a bright border may appear around the image, corresponding to areas of the projector’s array that no longer contribute to the display but still allow light to pass through.
Whenever possible, it is therefore best to position the projector directly in front of the projection surface, rather than tilting it or shifting it to the side, to prevent deteriorating the image.
My impressions
Design
With its attractive white and gold finish and curves that soften its silhouette, the Aurzen Boom Air projector is instantly appealing. The white driver, clearly visible on the back, adds a touch of originality that immediately sets it apart from the competition. The plastic materials used for the stand and chassis feel high-quality, and I found the build quality to be very satisfactory.
Finally, once turned on, this Aurzen mini projector is relatively quiet. In our test room, which had a background noise level of 34 dB, I measured an operating noise level of just 35 dB at a distance of one meter, with the brightness set to eco mode. This figure rose to about 40.5 dB in standard brightness mode and reached 43 to 44 dB in high brightness mode.

My recommended picture settings
The Standard and Film picture modes offer great color reproduction right out of the box, with vibrant hues that struck me as quite accurate. To fully appreciate them, it’s essential to ensure optimal viewing conditions by dimming the lights—or even turning them off completely—in the room. This enhances the image’s dynamic range, revealing satisfying contrast and rich color saturation.
With its slightly cooler color temperature, the Standard mode is particularly well-suited for documentaries, news programs, and TV shows. The warmer tones of Cinema mode are ideal for movies and TV series.
Gaming
Although the manufacturer doesn’t specifically promote this use, the Aurzen Boom Air proves to be a great companion for video game consoles. Once connected to the PlayStation 5 via HDMI, it delivers gameplay that’s smooth and responsive enough to make for very enjoyable casual gaming sessions.
Sound
This is one of the pleasant surprises of this review: despite having just a single driver—which rules out any possibility of stereo audio—the Boom Air delivers clear and fairly balanced sound, with particularly distinct vocals. That’s sufficient for most everyday uses, but I think it makes sense to pair it with a more powerful Bluetooth speaker to get more impact and energy.

Compared to the Xming Page One, the Aurzen Boom Air takes an approach clearly focused on portability and easy setup. Lighter and more compact, it features a built-in adjustable stand, eliminating the need for an optional stand to adjust the projection angle. Its more compact and less bulky design, along with its optional power bank charging, further reinforce its portable nature.
On the other hand, the Xming Page One retains an edge in image quality and sound reproduction. It delivers more consistent sharpness across the entire projection surface as well as better brightness uniformity, whereas the Boom Air shows some limitations at the edges of the image and in solid areas of colors.
