As major sporting events approach, TVs play a central role in the viewing experience. XXL image, smooth movement and immersive sound are now essential criteria for watching a match in the best possible conditions. With Philips Ambilight technology and the new AmbiScape feature, certain Philips TVs take things a step further by bringing the atmosphere of the match into the whole room. It’s a simple way to enhance the immersive experience during the big international football event of the summer, right from the comfort of your own living room.

Philips Ambilight: unique light immersion
For almost twenty years, Philips Ambilight technology has been one of the visual signatures of Philips televisions. The principle remains simple: LEDs placed on the back of the TV project colors onto the wall that follow the on-screen image in real time.

Initially, this system was designed to reduce eyestrain during long viewing sessions in a dark room. Over the generations, the technology has gained in precision thanks to individually managed light zones. As a result, the colors diffused around the TV extend the image in a more natural way, enhancing the feeling of immersion.
During a football match, the effect is particularly impressive. The colors of the pitch, the rapid camera movements and the stadium atmosphere spread around the screen, giving the impression that the action is spilling over into the room.
AmbiScape: connected lighting synchronized with the TV
With AmbiScape, Philips now extends this experience beyond the TV. This new function synchronizes room lighting with Ambilight effects using compatible connected bulbs.
In concrete terms, up to four bulbs can be combined with the TV to reproduce the colors and moods displayed on screen, with a claimed latency of less than 0.5 seconds. The aim is to create a continuity of light throughout the viewing area.

This function is compatible with several connected lighting ecosystems, including Philips Hue, WiZ, Nanoleaf and Ikea. Philips is also announcing the future arrival of other compatible brands.
The installation is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible. AmbiScape is activated via the TV’s Ambilight menu, or via a dedicated button on the remote control. An on-screen QR code then guides the user to connect the bulbs and configure their position in the room.
An experience designed for sports
AmbiScape comes into its own during sporting events such as the World Cup. In a living room immersed in lighting synchronized with the match, the experience gains in intensity without the need for a complex installation.

Each bulb can be positioned virtually to the left, right or behind the viewing area, to adapt the effects to the room’s configuration. Several modes remain available, depending on use: video synchronization, music or fixed color.
This approach also adds a more social aspect to evenings spent with friends or family. The changing lighting naturally complements the key moments of the match and enhances the atmosphere of your home stadium.
Compatible Ambilight TVs with Titan OS
Initially launched on a selection of Philips Ambilight TVs running Titan OS, the AmbiScape function is to be gradually extended to Ambilight models in the 8000 series and above. Currently compatible models include the Philips OLED760, Philips MLED950, Philips MLED910 and PUS9000 series from 2025.
With this evolution, Philips aims to simplify access to a complete immersive experience without imposing a single ecosystem. The use of several brands of connected bulbs offers greater flexibility to users already equipped with smart home objects.
Summary
With Philips Ambilight, Philips televisions have for several years been offering a visual experience that differs from traditional solutions. The AmbiScape feature now takes this concept a step further by synchronising the room lighting with the content displayed on screen.
For the world’s biggest football competition, this combination makes it easier to transform the living room into a truly immersive viewing space, with dynamic lighting effects adapted to matches and major sports events.
