Our expert’s opinion
The FiiO EH13 were among the headphones I was most looking forward to this year. On the one hand, because they mark FiiO’s return to the active noise-canceling Bluetooth headphone segment; on the other hand, because their specs seem particularly ambitious for a model priced under €50. LDAC, multipoint, ANC, wired mode, and a claimed battery life of up to 75 hours: on paper, the promise was certainly enough to pique my curiosity. After a week of use, my overall impression is positive. The FiiO EH13 deliver on their promises exactly where they matter most to me: sound quality. The balanced sound reproduction, open soundstage, and level of detail set them apart in this price range. Their sleek design, comfort, and light weight further reinforce this positive impression.
Noise isolation and active noise canceling remain more modest, while the lack of a mobile app and carrying case highlights the compromises made to achieve such a competitive price. However, these points quickly take a back seat to the headphones’ strengths. FiiO has clearly focused its efforts on sound quality, comfort, and battery life—a particularly smart choice at this price point.
LDAC-compatible, featuring active noise cancelling, multipoint connectivity, and a claimed battery life of up to 75 hours, the new FiiO EH13 headphones boast particularly appealing specs for a Bluetooth headset priced under €50. But with such ambitious characteristics, does the sound quality live up to expectations?

FiiO is having a particularly busy 2026, with a major push across several segments of the hi-fi and portable audio markets. The Chinese manufacturer has been making a series of announcements regarding DAPs, DACs, headphone amplifiers, desktop audio equipment, passive speakers, and Bluetooth solutions. This development strategy is accompanied by numerous new products scheduled for release throughout the year. In this context, the EH13 headphones mark FiiO’s return to the active noise-canceling Bluetooth headphone market. This affordably priced model looks very promising.
Introducing the FiiO EH13
The FiiO EH13 are closed-back, over-ear Bluetooth headphones. They feature 40 mm dynamic drivers with a PEEK and PU composite diaphragm that has a sapphire coating. Design is one of the FiiO EH13’s key strengths. Available in black or cream, the headphones feature a minimalist and elegant design that gives them a more premium look than their price point might suggest. The metallic-effect accents surrounding the ear cups add a touch of sophistication, while the faux-leather covering on the headband and ear pads contributes to the overall impression of quality craftsmanship.

Weighing in at 278 grams, with a foldable design and physical controls directly accessible on the ear cups, FiiO has opted for simplicity. The buttons control playback, volume, calls, the voice assistant, and the various ANC modes. This approach makes the headphones easy to use and minimizes handling errors while on the go. The headphones also do away with a mobile app and its numerous settings. This design choice allows users to enjoy the headphones and their features right away, with a deliberately simple approach that prioritizes usability over customization options.

Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC, and multipoint
Designed for on-the-go use, the FiiO EH13 offer features rarely found in Bluetooth headphones in this category. Their Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity allows for simultaneous pairing with two devices thanks to the multipoint feature. Compatible with Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless, they support the SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs. Furthermore, their frequency response is rated from 20 Hz to 40 kHz.
Finally, the FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones are rated for up to 75 hours of playback without active noise canceling and up to 45 hours with ANC. A full charge takes about two hours via the USB-C port.
ANC and transparency mode
The FiiO EH13 features hybrid active noise canceling designed to reduce everyday background noise. The headphones also offer a transparency mode to help you stay aware of your surroundings when necessary.

The ANC is controlled directly via the headphones’ physical controls. A single press allows you to switch between the different available modes without using a mobile app. FiiO uses a simple tone to confirm the mode change. In practice, this approach can sometimes lack clarity and it takes a few moments to identify the active mode with certainty.

The package focuses on the essentials. However, a carrying case would have been a welcome addition to make it easier to transport and store the headphones.

Test conditions
The FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones were used for a week in various everyday situations. The tests were conducted in Bluetooth and wired modes to evaluate its performance in both configurations. Various audio and video content was enjoyed: music on Qobuz and Spotify, social media, TV shows, YouTube videos, and more.
The headphones were also used in open-plan offices, on public transportation, and in the quiet of home for phone calls and to enjoy audio and video content. These conditions allowed us to evaluate the sound quality, comfort, Bluetooth connection speed, the effectiveness of the active noise cancellation, and the usability in everyday situations.
My impressions
My first impression of the FiiO EH13 was very positive. Weighing just 278 grams, you immediately notice how light they are when you put them on, and this greatly contributes to their comfort. The ear pads feel pleasant, and the headband effectively distributes the weight of the headphones across the top of the head.

The headphones clearly prioritize comfort over a snug fit. They generally stay in place, with a slight tendency to slip during more sudden movements, but nothing that’s really a problem.
Easy to use right out of the box
FiiO takes a deliberately simple approach here. The lack of a mobile app eliminates the need for any setup and allows for immediate use. The physical controls on the ear cups are easy to locate and operate without having to remove the headphones.
Pairing the FiiO EH13 headphones is quick, and the multipoint feature makes it easy to switch between a smartphone, computer, or tablet. In everyday use, this versatility proves particularly valuable. FiiO has also included a discreet indicator light that lets you quickly see the headphones’ status—whether they’re connected to a Bluetooth source, via a wired connection, or in pairing mode. It’s a simple detail, but one that’s practical in everyday use.

When it comes to calls, the microphones provide satisfactory voice pickup. Callers can hear your voice clearly; however, the reproduction of incoming voices seems slightly less precise, with the sound sometimes lacking clarity.
Surprisingly good sound quality for this price range
While not intended to compete with significantly more ambitious models, the FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones offer a pleasant and balanced listening experience that exceeds expectations for this price range.
On paper, the FiiO EH13 already have some compelling features, including their 40 mm dynamic drivers, PEEK and PU composite diaphragm with a sapphire coating, LDAC compatibility, and a claimed frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz. These features are rarely found together in Bluetooth headphones in this category.
As I listened, I was quickly surprised by the quality of the sound reproduction. Compared to models sold at significantly higher prices, the FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones deliver a pleasant, balanced sound that’s detailed enough to make listening a real pleasure. The different frequency ranges blend coherently, and the soundstage has a convincing sense of openness that prevents any feeling of confinement.
I particularly appreciated the overall clarity of the sound. The vocals remain well-defined, the instruments fit naturally into the mix, and the sound remains clear even on relatively busy tracks. The LDAC codec also adds an extra touch of finesse with compatible sources. At this price point, the performance is particularly impressive and, in my opinion, is the main selling point of these Bluetooth headphones.
Isolation that could be improved
Passive noise isolation is one of the main trade-offs of the FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones. The ear pads prioritize comfort and lightness, but as a result, they provide only relatively moderate attenuation of external noise. In an open-plan office, on the street, or on public transportation, ambient sound remains easily audible. Sound leakage is also quite noticeable at high volume.

The ANC does, however, improve listening comfort by reducing the most annoying continuous noises, although its effectiveness is limited. It is controlled directly via a dedicated button, with a simple tone indicating a mode change. A voice prompt would have provided greater clarity. Nevertheless, it fulfills its role adequately within an overall design where sound quality appears to be the priority over noise isolation.
Particularly impressive value for money
Some features that are now standard on higher-end models are missing here. The mobile app, carrying case, and certain advanced features have been set aside in favor of a more straightforward approach. FiiO focuses its efforts on the most important elements: sound quality at an ultra-competitive price, as well as battery life. Combined with a particularly attractive design and build quality that inspires confidence, these choices allow the EH13 to deliver a consistent and appealing performance.

The FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones prove that it’s still possible to focus on what matters most. Their sound quality, comfort, and sleek design set them apart in what is otherwise a highly competitive category.
FiiO EH13 vs. Soundcore Q20i

The Soundcore Q20i Bluetooth headphones are the FiiO EH13’s most direct competitor. Both models are very affordably priced and offer a particularly comprehensive set of features for their price point. However, they each excel in different areas.
The Soundcore Q20i prioritizes practicality above all else. Its all-plastic design and black finish give it a relatively understated look, with a focus on functionality rather than aesthetics. On the other hand, its more compact ear cups and slightly firmer fit enhance passive noise isolation. Combined with slightly more effective active noise canceling, this design allows it to better block out everyday noise. The Q20i also performs well during phone calls, with clearer voice reproduction and better sound pickup.
The FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones take a different approach. Available in black or cream, they feature a more refined look, with metallic accents that enhance their design and reinforce their perceived quality. Their superior comfort and roomier ear cups make them pleasant to wear for long periods, especially for people who wear jewelry or glasses, as well as those with larger ears.
In terms of sound quality, the FiiO EH13 has the edge. The sound is richer, more open, and more natural. The soundstage is wider, and the various frequency ranges are clearer. Compatible with Hi-Res Audio Wireless, it takes full advantage of the LDAC codec with a claimed bandwidth of up to 40 kHz, compared to 20 kHz for the Soundcore Q20i via Bluetooth.
Ultimately, the Soundcore Q20i will appeal most to users who prioritize sound isolation, call quality, and ANC. The FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones are better suited for audiophiles on a budget who are looking for more refined sound reproduction, superior comfort, and a more premium design.
Who are the FiiO EH13 headphones designed for?
The FiiO EH13 are primarily aimed at music lovers who want to prioritize sound quality without spending a lot of money on Bluetooth headphones. Their balanced sound reproduction, LDAC compatibility, and a soundstage that’s surprisingly vast for this category make them a particularly appealing choice for listening to music at home, at the office, or during your daily commute.

Their sleek design, lightweight build, and comfort also make it a pleasure to use for extended periods. Users looking for easy-to-use headphones will also appreciate the lack of complex settings, the physical controls, and the multipoint connection. Priced at €49, the FiiO EH13 Bluetooth headphones are a particularly attractive option for anyone looking for comfortable, stylish, and high-fidelity Bluetooth headphones without breaking the bank.
