Billed as a turntable that combines proven technology with contemporary design, the Technics SL-40CBT continues to evolve with the introduction of two new finishes. At the 2026 High End show in Vienna, the Japanese brand announced the addition of blue and white versions to its lineup. This expansion builds on the success this model has enjoyed since its launch in 2025.

Technics expands the color palette of the SL-40CBT
Launched in September 2025, the Technics SL-40CBT direct-drive turntable was previously available in black, gray, and terracotta. The brand is now expanding this lineup with two new colors: blue and white. The three initial finishes were all equally successful, confirming the appeal of offering several design options. This approach aims to attract new music lovers who value the seamless integration of audio equipment into their home decor.

As Frank Balzuweit, Senior Product Manager at Technics Europe, explains: “We were really delighted by the immediate and positive reception of the SL-40CBT turntable since its launch in September 2025.”
A turntable that stays true to Technics’ core principles
Despite its decidedly contemporary design, the brand’s Bluetooth turntable retains the technical features characteristic of the Japanese brand’s models. It features a digitally controlled, coreless iron direct-drive motor to ensure precise platter rotation. This design is one of the brand’s signature technologies.
The turntable also features an S-shaped aluminum tonearm. Designed with great precision, it offers the sensitivity needed to faithfully reproduce the information engraved on vinyl records.
