At the AWOL Vision booth at IFA 2026, the LuxVision took its place at the top of the manufacturer’s ultra-short-throw range. This new model features a triple RGB laser light source with a claimed brightness of 6,000 ISO lumens and is billed as the world’s first UST projector to combine 120Hz 4K with an optical lens shift. Capable of projecting a picture ranging from 80 to 200 inches, it is designed for cinema, sports, and gaming.
AWOL LuxVision: triple RGB laser and 6,000 ISO lumens
The LuxVision features a triple RGB laser light source covering up to 110% of the Rec.2020 color space. Its light output reaches 6,000 ISO lumens, a level designed to maintain a very large image in various viewing environments, including rooms with ambient light.
AWOL Vision boasts a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1 with an iris, as well as an EBL contrast ratio of up to 100,000:1. A dynamic iris with seven adjustable levels adapts the light and contrast based on the scene. Dynamic Tone Mapping also applies to HDR content to adjust its rendering on a frame-by-frame basis.
HDR format compatibility includes Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG, along with an IMAX Enhanced certification, Filmmaker Mode, and 3D support. AWOL Vision also features its Anti-RBE II technology, designed to reduce the perception of rainbow effects and improve viewing comfort for both 2D and 3D content, particularly during fast-paced and high-contrast scenes.
120Hz 4K and optical lens shift: a first-of-its-kind combination in UST
The LuxVision’s standout feature is its optical system. With a throw ratio of 0.18:1, the projector can display an image ranging from 80 to 200 inches. AWOL Vision notes that a 120-inch diagonal image is achieved at a distance of approximately 19 cm from the screen.
Above all, the LuxVision adds a vertical optical lens shift controlled directly from the device. This feature physically shifts the projected image by adjusting the lens, thereby preserving all the details of the 4K image. It provides greater flexibility for aligning the image with an existing screen or adjusting the projector to match the height of the cabinet it is mounted in.
The brand complements this feature with several automated functions, including image alignment and keystone correction.
120Hz 4K gaming and expanded connectivity
The LuxVision supports 120Hz 4K signals and processes nearly one billion pixels per second, according to AWOL Vision. This refresh rate is designed for video games as well as sports and action scenes, providing better reproduction of fast-moving images.
For gaming, the manufacturer claims a latency of 1 ms in 120Hz 4K, combined with VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision Gaming. To take advantage of this from multiple sources, the projector features three HDMI 2.1 inputs and one DisplayPort. An HDMI Multiview feature can also display up to four sources simultaneously.
Connectivity options also include a Gigabit Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The LuxVision runs on Google TV and integrates with various smart home platforms, including Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Control4. AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Miracast round out the wireless streaming options.
A customizable projector that blends seamlessly into the living room
AWOL Vision has also focused on the aesthetic integration of its new model. According to the brand, the LuxVision’s design is inspired by the architectural rhythm of the Parthenon’s columns. The chassis features lines intended to make the device resemble a piece of furniture.
The manufacturer offers several CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) customization options. Customers can choose from finishes such as brushed aluminum, brass, copper, carbon fiber, sintered stone, or a leather-like finish, paired with various inserts in oak, walnut, ebony, or American cherry.
