A few weeks after opening the doors to its new showroom, the Son-Vidéo.com store in Lille invites you to join them on September 24, 2026, to officially celebrate its grand opening. Located at 68 Boulevard de la Liberté in Lille, this new location marks an important milestone for the Lille team. The store has significantly expanded, with two floors entirely dedicated to audio and video.
The new space was designed as a true journey of discovery. It features a headphone bar, a section dedicated to vinyl records and small hi-fi systems, two auditoriums, a video room dedicated to ultra-short-throw and short-throw projectors, a movie theater, and a TV and soundbar area.

The event on September 24 will be the perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover this new store, chat with the staff, and, above all, enjoy demonstrations organized especially for the event.
Philippe Penna of Elipson attends the opening ceremony
One of the highlights of the event will be the presence of Philippe Penna, engineer and head of the design office at Elipson. This is a unique opportunity to meet one of the key figures directly involved in the development of the French manufacturer’s speakers and to discuss their design with him.
Throughout the evening, Philippe Penna will conduct several comparative demonstrations to highlight the acoustic choices and different design philosophies developed by Elipson. These listening sessions will not only allow attendees to fully enjoy the auditoriums in the new store but also to better understand how a speaker’s design influences its sound reproduction: cabinet architecture, choice of drivers, crossover design, dispersion, and in-room behavior.
Elipson 402 Tribute and Heritage XLS 7
Among the models already confirmed for this event are the Elipson 402 Tribute and the Elipson Heritage XLS 7, two speakers that each embody, in their own way, the French manufacturer’s expertise and history.
With its instantly recognizable spherical shape, the Elipson 402 Tribute reimagines one of the brand’s most iconic designs. This speaker, entirely designed and manufactured in France, is the result of a collaboration with Supravox and captures the spirit of the historic 402 while featuring a modernized acoustic design.
The Elipson Heritage XLS 7 bookshelf speaker takes a very different approach. More compact and inspired by 1970s hi-fi speakers, it combines a 6.5″ cellulose pulp midbass driver with a silk dome tweeter. It is the most compact model in the Heritage line and also features a control that allows you to adjust the high-frequency level.
The combination of these two models therefore promises a particularly interesting listening experience. Despite sharing certain aesthetic similarities, the 402 Tribute and XLS 7 are based on very different architectures and design philosophies. The demonstrations will allow attendees to experience their unique features firsthand and to speak directly with Philippe Penna about the technical choices that guided their development. Other Elipson speakers will also be showcased during the event.
