Technics has unveiled the EAH-A1000, a pair of high-end over-ear headphones equipped with a new 40mm magnetic fluid transducer. This model is the successor to the EAH-A800 and uses technologies developed by the brand for its earbuds. By applying these technologies to an over-ear design, Technics is focusing on transducer control, adaptive noise cancelling, and high-resolution audio.

The Technics EAH-A1000 Bluetooth headphones therefore combine several acoustic and practical innovations: a carbon fibre diaphragm, an SST surround borrowed from Technics’ hi-fi speakers, LDAC and USB Audio playback, and an announced battery life of 45 hours. These are the first Technics over-ear headphones to feature a magnetic fluid driver.
A 40mm magnetic fluid transducer
Transducers convert the electric signal into air movement to generate sound. For the EAH-A1000, Technics has decided to use a 40mm dynamic model featuring magnetic fluid between the voice coil and the magnet.

This material, which combines both liquid and magnetic properties, allows the voice coil to move more precisely and helps to minimise vibrations. This control is particularly important for large transducers, where the diaphragm must remain stable during rapid movements.
Technics already used this technology in its EAH-TZ700 wired earbuds, before adding it to the EAH-AZ100 true wireless earbuds. The EAH-A1000 headphones apply this principle to a 40mm driver.
Carbon fibre and an SST surround for better diaphragm control
The Technics EAH-A1000 headphones’ transducer also features a cone-shaped carbon fibre diaphragm. This material is both lightweight and rigid to ensure a fast response and suppress deformation. The SST (Symmetrical Surround Technology) surround favours more symmetrical diaphragm movement. Already used in Technics hi-fi speakers, this technology also contributes to the linearity of the reproduction.

Technics has also redesigned the headphones’ internal acoustics. A flat baffle structure reduces reflections around the transducer, while an acoustic control chamber handles rear airflow to balance the low and mid frequencies.
Adaptive noise reduction and high-resolution playback
The Technics EAH-A1000 Bluetooth headphones feature adaptive noise cancelling. In each earpiece, three forward-facing microphones and one feedback microphone analyse ambient sounds in order to adjust the processing according to the environment and how the headphones sit on the user’s head.

The headphones are compatible with the LDAC codec and USB Audio playback. In addition, they are optimised for Dolby Atmos with a head movement tracking feature, whilst AI-assisted beamforming targets voices during phone calls.
Headphones designed for long listening sessions
The Technics EAH-A1000’s ear cups allow for greater range of movement and feature a more precise slide adjustment to distribute pressure more evenly. The high-density memory foam ear pads make long listening sessions more comfortable. The headphones can be folded and placed inside the included carrying case.
Multipoint connectivity allows you to pair them with three devices simultaneously, while the physical buttons and slider make day-to-day control a breeze.

Available in Black and Platinum Greige, the Technics EAH-A1000 will soon be available on Son-Vidéo.com.
In summary
The Technics EAH-A1000 Bluetooth headphones introduce a 40mm magnetic fluid transducer to the brand’s range of over-ear headphones. This technology is accompanied by carbon fibre diaphragms, SST surrounds, and redesigned acoustic architecture for more precise diaphragm movement.
With LDAC, USB Audio, Dolby Atmos with head tracking, adaptive ANC and a battery life of up to 45 hours, this new model is the perfect addition to Technics’ range of high-end wireless headphones.
