It is official, the DTS:X update will be a reality for a selection of Denon home cinema receivers in the near future. A firmware update has been announced for early 2016 (January or February) and the main evolution will be the handling of DTS laboratories multi-channel 3D audio codec, main competitor for the Dolby Atmos.

Denon AVR-X7200WA
The next update of the Denon AVR-X7200WA will allow the receiver to decode DST:X 3D surround audio tracks.

The Denon AVR-X7200WA, Denon AVR-X7200W, Denon AVR-X6200W and Denon AVR-X4200W receivers should be the first models to benefit from this firmware update. Once updated, these Denon home cinema receivers will have the ability to handle and deliver DTS:X encoded soundtracks with the added benefit of Audyssey automatic calibration on 9.2, or even 11.2 channels. Enough to offer a splendid sound on 3 axes for complete immersion in the heart of the action.

As a buyer and seller of second-hand high-tech products for around ten years before joining Son-Vidéo.com in 2007, I had the opportunity to test a variety of amplifiers, speakers, headphones, TVs, projectors and DAPs... Passionate about films and series, music and new technologies, I'm particularly fond of the worlds of TV, video projection and home theater. I like to watch films with my family on the big screen, either at the movie theater or at home, but I also enjoy listening to music on a good hi-fi system, sat in a comfy armchair or on a walk with a pair of headphones.
