AVForums is both an audio-visual forum and a website containing information, reviews and articles on home theater, hi-fi, technology, movies, music, video games, and much more. Founded in 2000, the British site now has users in over 200 countries. The UK’s most visited AV forum also has a social media presence, with over 100,000 subscribers on its YouTube channel.
Every year, this specialist site rewards the best performing audio-video devices of the year with the prestigious AVForums Editor’s Choice label. The winning equipment is divided into several categories: televisions, projectors, home theater and hi-fi. As a result, you will find soundbars, subwoofers, AV receivers, OLED TVs, wireless hi-fi speakers, turntables and hi-fi headphones among the many winners. Sony, LG, Devialet, SVS, Yamaha, McIntosh, Focal, Sonus faber… Here are some of the lucky winners.

Televisions & projectors
In the TV category, Japanese manufacturer Sony has done well with the models in the Sony A95K range, named the best TVs of 2022 by AVForums. Equipped with a bright QD-OLED panel and Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR image processor, the Sony XR-A95K televisions offer “image quality that gets as close as possible to a reference grading monitor.”

For gaming, LG’s OLED G2 TVs were awarded by the AVForums editorial team. LG OLED G2 TVs are perfectly suited for video games with support for VRR G-Sync and FreeSync technologies. In addition, they are capable of displaying 4K images at up to 120 Hz, include HDMI 2.1 ports for smooth images at up to 4K 120 FPS, and offer direct access to Cloud Gaming services. As an added bonus, the excellent Game Optimizer menu offers a shortcut to all the LG OLED G2 TV settings that are essential for gaming.

Still in the home theater field, AVForums chose to reward the Yamaha Aventage RX-A6A amp for its superb stereo and Dolby Atmos performance. It features MusicCast multi-room technology, Yamaha YPAO calibration, and HDMI jacks that support 4K/120 and 8K/60 for optimal viewing quality. “It’s an excellent mid-level performer offering almost everything a modern AV fan needs” AVForums concludes.

Hi-fi
In the hi-fi category you will find the McIntosh MA950 hi-fi amplifier, considered by AVForums as “the best high-end stereo amplifier” of the year. Capable of delivering up to 2 x 200 watts at 2, 4 or 8 ohms and equipped with the American brand’s Autoformer, Power Guard and Sentry Monitor technologies, this exceptional model offers an outstanding sound experience.

This stylish wireless speaker features seven drivers in a four-way configuration for a wide, spacious and realistic soundstage.
