Sony announces record sales of PlayStation 5 consoles this last quarter, all countries combined. While this indicates a return to production and an end to the shortage of certain components, the Japanese manufacturer has not yet pulled out all its trump cards. Thanks to the holidays at the end of last year and the arrival of big games like Hogwarts Legacy, as well as the release of its PS VR2 virtual headset in early 2023, the PS5 takes the lead in console sales. So much so that it is experiencing an increase in sales of about 300% from one quarter to the next.
And gamers aren’t left out! Many fans are eagerly awaiting Sony’s announcement on the future of the console: according to journalist Tom Handerson, a “Slim” version and a “Pro” version of the PS5 should be released by the end of 2024!
