Following the success of the Elipson Heritage XLS 15 and Elipson Heritage XLS 11 speakers, the French specialist continues to expand its Elipson Heritage range with its first bookshelf-format model: the Elipson Heritage XLS 7. This new model features the vintage design of its predecessors in a much more compact format, for easier integration into any interior.

The Elipson Heritage XLS 7 speaker takes features vintage design of the popular Elipson Heritage XLS 15 and XLS 11 in a compact bookshelf format.

Elipson Heritage XLS 7: vintage design

Little sisters to the Elipson Heritage XLS 15 and XLS 11, acclaimed by the specialist press, the new Elipson Heritage XLS 7 take their vintage aesthetic cues from speakers from the 60s and 70s, such as the iconic Celestion Ditton 551, JBL 4312 and Pioneer HPM-100. They retain the same style, with a walnut finish and a white cone driver, but in a more compact format (22.5cm wide, 38cm high and 25cm deep). The first bookshelf speakers in the Elipson Heritage range, these new models are designed to fit easily into any space in the home. What’s more, their front-firing port allows them to be placed directly against a wall without compromising sound reproduction.

Elipson Heritage XLS 7: 6.5″ driver

Unlike previous models in the range, which adopt a 3-way design, the Elipson Heritage XLS 7 is based on a more classic 2-way architecture. The large 12″ woofer of the XLS 15 and 8″ woofer of the XLS 11 are replaced by a 6.5″ midbass driver. Its cellulose fiber composition remains unchanged. A retro design that creates a lightweight yet rigid cone capable of moving air quickly and efficiently. Coupled with a powerful magnet, it enables the Elipson Heritage XLS 7 to deliver low frequencies down to 49Hz.

The 6.5″ midbass driver with cellulose fiber cone ensures that the Elipson XLS 7 delivers dynamic bass and a rich midrange.

Elipson Heritage XLS 7: iconic tweeter

The Elipson Heritage XLS 7 also retains the 0.8″ silk dome tweeter of its predecessors. Directly derived from the French manufacturer’s Prestige Facet range, this model ensures excellent transient performance and perfect control of high frequencies up to 25kHz. In addition, the rear cavity is damped to limit distortion and resonance.

The Elipson Heritage XLS 7 speaker uses the tweeter from the Prestige Facet range, guaranteeing excellent transient performance and perfect control of high frequencies.

Elipson Heritage XLS 7: adjustable gain

The Elipson Heritage XLS 7 speaker takes listeners back to the 60s and 70s with its resolutely vintage aesthetic. This inspiration is also reflected in the front-panel gain potentiometer. This makes it easy to adjust the treble response by + or – 2 dB. The aim is to optimize the perception of this register when the speaker is not perfectly aligned with the listening position, or on the contrary, to reduce it for amplifiers with bright sound signatures. This way, the listening experience is always optimal!

The Elipson Heritage XLS 7 bookshelf speaker features adjustable gain for easy customization of treble levels.
