Marantz is developping its home theater range with two new complementary electronics: the Marantz AV 30 preamplifier and the Marantz AMP 30 power amplifier. Designed to work together, these high-end models follow in the footsteps of the AV 10 / AMP 10 and AV 20 / AMP 20 sets, this time with 11.4-channel pre-amplification for the AV 30 and 6 x 200 watts per channel amplification into 8Ω for the AMP 30.
Modular home theater
The new Marantz 30 series is a natural extension of the Marantz Cinema range (understanding the Marantz home theater AV receiver range). The direct heir to the AV 10 / AMP 10 and AV 20 / AMP 20 sets, it retains their high-end philosophy while offering a more accessible modular solution, designed for ambitious, scalable home theater installations. The AV 10 / AMP 10 duos now embody the absolute pinnacle of this philosophy. Incredibly powerful and refined, they are designed for the most ambitious installations, with 15.4-channel pre-amplification and power over 16 channels. Last May, Marantz introduced a 13.4-channel version with the Marantz AV 20 processor and its 12-channel Marantz AMP 20 power amp. Marantz has therefore extended this approach to a wider audience, eager to benefit from separate high-end electronics, but in a more accessible format and budget while retaining the latest audio and video standards. The new AV 30 and AMP 30 follow precisely this logic, making high-end home theater more accessible than ever.

Marantz AV 20: an 11.4-channel processor
Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D
With 11.4 channels, the AV 30 processor allows a wide range of speaker configurations, up to 7.4.4, perfectly meeting today’s demands for immersive formats. It supports all the major market standards: Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and AURO-3D, guaranteeing full compatibility with UHD Blu-ray content, streaming and latest-generation gaming. Like the AV 10 and AV 20, the AV 30 is designed and manufactured in Japan, at the legendary Shirakawa Audio Works, a true symbol of Marantz’s expertise. It benefits from optimized HDAM-SA2 circuits, a current feedback topology and rigorously selected components to preserve a smooth, natural and harmonically rich reproduction.

Audyssey and Dirac Live acoustic correction
The Marantz AV 30 home theater preamplifier incorporates the brand’s renowned Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration as standard, enabling precise analysis of the listening room and speakers, with separate management of the four subwoofer outputs. For the most discerning users, Dirac Live technology is also available as an option, including advanced bass control and active room treatment. This high-performance acoustic correction system goes even further than Audyssey, with precise control of phase, impulse and frequency behavior. This dual approach offers a choice between simple configuration and extremely advanced acoustic optimization, depending on the user’s expectations and level of expertise.

Latest-generation HDMI connectivity
Regarding video, the Marantz AV 30 processor is perfectly up to date. It features seven 8K-compatible HDMI 2.1 inputs and three HDMI outputs, supporting UHD 60Hz/8K and 120Hz/4K streams, as well as the main HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR. It also integrates eARC, VRR, ALLM and advanced gaming functions, ensuring seamless integration with the latest TVs and projectors.
In addition to seven HDMI inputs, there are three HDMI outputs (including one eARC), seven analog RCA inputs (including one phono), four digital inputs (two optical and two coaxial), as well as 11.4 RCA outputs and 11.4 XLR outputs to add external amplifiers. Maximum flexibility for customizing your system.

Thanks to its network connectivity, the Marantz AV 30 can access streaming services via Heos (Spotify, Tidal, Deezer…), as well as Qobuz Connect, now available on all Heos Marantz and Denon equipment. It also supports AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, DLNA and web radios. For multi-room sound, it is compatible with the Heos ecosystem.
Marantz AMP 20: 6 power channels
Perfectly complementing the AV 30 preamplifier, Marantz unveils the AMP 30, a slimline 6-channel power amplifier designed to offer an excellent compromise between power, flexibility and integration. Despite its relatively slim chassis, the AMP 30 delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and up to 400 watts into 4 ohms, enough to easily power demanding speakers, even in ambitious multichannel configurations. To adapt to every need, it features a bi-amp mode, allowing you to power the high frequency and low frequency sections of the speakers separately, as well as a BTL mode, allowing 400W into 8 ohms to be configured over three channels, ideal for very high-level front channels.
This amplifier benefits from an architecture specifically developed by Marantz to combine high current capacity, exemplary stability and musical reproduction. It uses the brand’s famous HDAM modules, combined with a current feedback topology that guarantees rapid response and precise driver control, even during the most demanding dynamic peaks.
Note from the expert: An HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) is a proprietary technology developed by Marantz to replace conventional operational transistors. Where an integrated circuit combines all components in a standardized chip, HDAM adopts an entirely discrete architecture, made up of carefully selected and individually implanted transistors, resistors and capacitors. This design allows Marantz to precisely optimize each critical parameter: response speed, bandwidth, signal-to-noise ratio and signal stability. The result is smoother, more detailed and more natural sound reproduction, with improved micro-dynamics and a more open soundstage. In practice, HDAM modules make a major contribution to the Marantz sound signature.

With the AV 30 and AMP 30 duo, Marantz methodically continues the development of its Cinema range, offering a solution that is both high-performance and modular. Designed to work together but capable of being integrated into more complex installations, these two new models take up the brand’s technical and aesthetic fundamentals while refining their accessibility and flexibility. At €5,490 each, these two models are aimed at those who want to enjoy a movie theater-like experience at home, with the added bonus of musicality.
