The Devialet Phantom Ultimate 98 dB features a new blue finish that further enhances the sculptural character of this French speaker. Beneath this new look, the structure and acoustic architecture remain identical to those of the other versions of the Phantom Ultimate 98 dB, still offering 400 W of amplification and wireless compatibility with AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Bluetooth.

A new, very elegant navy blue finish

With this blue version, Devialet focuses primarily on the contrast between material and light. The body of the Phantom Ultimate 98 dB speaker is finished in an ultra-matte navy blue (RAL 5011), while the side panels feature the shade RAL 5003 combined with a glossy mirror finish. These elements, which were previously more visually understated, now catch the light more effectively and highlight the speaker’s sleek silhouette.

Devialet deliberately draws parallels between this new aesthetic and the world of automobiles and Formula 1. In particular, the polished finish of the side panels evokes the sleek, glossy appearance of a car’s body. This serves to reinforce the connection between design, speed, and precision that now characterizes the brand’s message.

The iconic silhouette, however, remains unchanged. The Devialet Phantom Ultimate 98 dB smart speaker retains the exceptionally compact form factor that won us over during our review, with an instantly recognizable design and two side-firing woofers whose movements are an integral part of the experience.

Devialet also offers its Tree stand in this Pulse Blue finish. Designed specifically to complement this edition, it allows you to position the speaker at an optimal listening height while matching its navy blue aesthetic.

A compact speaker with dynamic sound

Despite its compact dimensions—157 mm wide, 219 mm long, and 168 mm tall, weighing 4.3 kg—the Devialet Phantom Ultimate 98 dB remains a particularly ambitious speaker. Its amplifier delivers 400 W of power and drives an aluminum dome full-range driver as well as two aluminum woofers. The system covers a claimed frequency range of 18 Hz to 25 kHz and can reach a maximum sound pressure level of 98 dB SPL at one meter.

During our review of the Ultimate generation, we noted in particular its exceptional power for this size, its very deep bass—which was better controlled than in previous generations—and the spectacular performance of the side woofers.

Among its key features:

  • 400 W amplification
  • Max SPL at 1 m: 98 dB
  • Frequency response: 18 Hz to 25 kHz
  • Aluminum dome full-range driver + 2 woofers
  • Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2
  • AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, UPnP, and Roon Ready
  • Mini-TOSLINK optical input up to 24-bit/192 kHz
  • Stereo pairing of two speakers at up to 24-bit/96 kHz

The Devialet Phantom Ultimate 98 dB can therefore be used on its own or paired with a second speaker to create a stereo system. Devialet is also marking the launch of this finish with a bundle that includes two speakers and two matching Pulse Blue Tree stands.

A shade of blue that echoes the brand’s partnership with Isack Hadjar

This new edition comes a few months after the announcement of the partnership between Devialet and French racing driver Isack Hadjar. Signed for two years, this collaboration brings together two worlds in which precision, technological mastery, and sensation-seeking play a central role.

Devialet highlights this partnership, in particular, from the perspective of performance and emotion. The Formula 1 driver himself noted a similarity between the physical sensations experienced in a cockpit and those provided by the brand’s systems. This collaboration is also intended to support certain Devialet launches and exclusive collections.

In this context, the Pulse Blue finish takes on a special significance. Its polished surfaces—inspired by automotive bodywork—and its sportier aesthetic directly evoke the world of motorsports without altering the acoustic design of the Devialet Phantom Ultimate 98 dB.
