JVC: native 4K and 8K laser projectors!
Fans of very large 4K images flocked to the JVC booth to discover the D-ILA laser projectors of the Japanese manufacturer. A projection room was set up to demonstrate the JVC DLA-NP5 native 4K projector (4K 120Hz compatible) as well as the JVC DLA-NZ7, JVC DLA-NZ8 and JVC DLA-NZ9 native 4K projectors compatible with 4K 120Hz and 8K 60Hz.
JVC’s DLA-NZ series of laser projectors are equipped with 8K e-Shift technology. They are the only consumer home theater projectors in the world to offer 48 Gbps compatible HDMI 2.1 inputs. They are HDR10+ compatible and support 4K 120Hz and 8K 60Hz video streams!
Sony: 4K HDR laser projectors
Visitors looking for a projector suitable for a living room were able to appreciate the brightness of the Sony VPL-XW5000 and Sony VPL-XW7000 4K laser projectors. The latter projected a magnificent image that remained perfectly readable despite the ambient light thanks to a technical Xtrem Screen.
The partnership with the French manufacturer of glass speakers Waterfall was renewed again this year in the heart of the Sony home theater room. The Dolby Atmos movie soundtracks were reproduced by Waterfall Elora Evo L/R and Waterfall Elora Evo Center speakers. To power them, Sony used Trinnov Audio electronics (Trinnov Altitude32 preamplifier and Trinnov Amplitude16 power amplifier) as well as Zappiti Signature and Zappiti Neo AV network players. The image projected by the Sony VPL-XW7000 was exceptional in terms of image accuracy and colorimetry. The sound was excellent, with colossal energy and precision at every moment.
Leica: 4K laser ultra short-throw projector
Introduced last September at the IFA in Berlin, the very first ultra short-throw laser projector from Leica was presented for the first time in France at the Paris Audio Video Show. A unique opportunity for visitors to discover the Leica Cine 1, the first of a future range of projectors designed in partnership with Hisense, a laser TV specialist.
The Leica Cine 1 uses electronics and audio developed by Hisense, while the optics are made to Leica specifications. The resulting image is very sharp and accurate, even in the corners. Leica demonstrated the qualities of this projector on a dedicated 2.5m projection screen with a stunning image quality despite the ambient light.
Samsung: The Premiere and The Freestyle
During the 2022 Paris Audio Video Show, Korean manufacturer Samsung presented its Lifestyle collection. The range includes televisions and projectors designed to blend in with all interiors and to easily adapt to viewers’ needs.
Among the devices presented at the show, PAVS visitors were able to discover Samsung’s range of projectors, including the Samsung The Premiere LSP7T and Samsung The Premiere LSP9T ultra short-throw projectors. These two Ultra HD 4K projectors are HDR10+ & Filmmaker mode compatible. They include a DTT, cable and satellite TV tuner and offer the same Smart TV features as Samsung TVs (Tizen interface) for easy access to Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video or MyCanal.
The Samsung The Premiere LSP7T has a laser lamp providing a maximum brightness of 2200 lumens to project during the day, ideally on a technical screen like the Lumene Movie Palace UHD 4K Extra Bright. Its built-in stereo soundbar (2.2 channels, 60 watts) is Dolby Digital Plus compatible and can stream music wirelessly from a smartphone or computer via Bluetooth.
More powerful, the Samsung The Premiere LSP9T features a triple RGB laser offering a higher brightness (2800 lumens) and a greater colorimetric accuracy. More efficient (40 watts), its soundbar spatializes sound over 4.2 channels to offer spectators a very immersive experience.
Much more compact and designed to follow you around the house, the Samsung The Freestyle (SP-LSP3) portable projector was also present at the PAVS. This 1080p HD model has a built-in stand and can be rotated 180°. It can therefore project onto the ceiling so you can watch a movie in bed! The image adjustment is automatic (focus and geometry) and the sound is diffused throughout the entire room thanks to the 360° driver.
Samsung has equipped this portable projector with the Tizen interface also featured on Samsung TVs. It can therefore access the majority of online streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, AppleTV+, YouTube… Its HDMI ARC/eARC, WiFi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity makes it very versatile and the optional battery (Samsung VG-FBB3BA) allows you to take it anywhere!
As well as many exceptional projectors, the Paris Audio Video Show 2022 also allowed us to discover many new TVs and soundbars, headphones and IEMs, magnificent speakers and the best of connected hi-fi.
