British manufacturer Monitor Audio has unveiled its most prestigious subwoofers with the Anthra range, comprising the Monitor Audio Anthra W10, Monitor Audio Anthra W12 and Monitor Audio Anthra W15 models. These new subs are more powerful than ever, thanks to the use of the famous C-CAM cone with RST II technology and an amplification of up to 1,400W RMS. All the ingredients for a thrilling hi-fi or home theater experience!

Monitor Audio Anthra: C-CAM driver

To suit any room, Monitor Audio Anthra subwoofers feature a driver whose diameter ranges from 10″ for the Monitor Audio Anthra W10 to 12″ for the Anthra W12 and 15″ for the Anthra W15. They all feature a C-CAM cone, an exclusive technology already tried and tested by the brand with the Monitor Audio Bronze W10 and Monitor Audio Silver W12 subwoofers, as well as the Monitor Audio Silver 500 7G and Monitor Audio Silver 300 7G speakers. It features a high-excursion cone to maximize air displacement. Here, it is coupled with RST II (Rigid Surface Technology II) technology, which improves rigidity and limits distortion.

Monitor Audio Anthra: colossal power

The Monitor Audio Anthra subwoofers are amplified by a Class D module whose power can reach over 1,400 watts RMS on the Monitor Audio Anthra W15, the flagship model of the range. To handle all this power, Monitor Audio Anthra subwoofers rely on a thick chassis, reinforced by multiple internal braces. The front panel housing the driver is 25mm thick for the Anthra W10 and 36mm for the Anthra W12 and W15. This effectively absorbs the mechanical energy released by the divers, thus limiting distortion. What’s more, the sealed design of these subwoofers maximizes the reproduction of harmonics, guaranteeing a natural hi-fi sound.

Monitor Audio Anthra: DSP and equalization

For easy adjustment, Monitor Audio Anthra subwoofers feature the latest digital processing systems, with several presets and DSP modes. They feature film, impact and music modes, making it easy to select the mode best suited to the program being viewed. This setting can be selected using the LCD display on the back of the sub, or from the MaestroUnite app. In addition, three customizable modes with 8 equalization bands are available to create your own settings.
