LG has revealed its new range of soundbars for 2024. It includes three models: the LG S95TR, LG SG10TY and LG S70TY. These new LG soundbars are designed to work with LG televisions to provide a premium home theater experience. The Korean manufacturer has reserved a special place for them on its stand at CES 2024 in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, no doubt alongside the future LG OLED 2024 C4 and G4 TVs (among others).

CES 2024: new LG soundbars

LG wants to create a new synergy between its 2024 LG soundbars and TVs in order to enhance immersion for viewers. To do this, the manufacturer is relying on its WOW Orchestra technology, which allows the soundbar and LG television to fully harness the potential of their various audio channels. The goal is to widen the soundstage and improve the sensation of depth and height, on both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. LG also highlights its WOWCAST technology, which enables the LG S95TR and LG SG10TY soundbars to connect wirelessly to LG TVs, without compromising on audio quality. Finally, the WOW Interface function enables the soundbar to be set up directly from a settings menu on the TV.

LG S95TR: 810 watts, 9.1.5 channels

The LG S95TR soundbar is the Korean manufacturer’s high-end model. It has the difficult task of replacing the very popular LG S95QR, from which it takes several characteristics. It has a 9.1.5-channel configuration that is Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatible, with a total output power of 810 watts, 200 of which are for the accompanying wireless subwoofer. A pair of wireless surround speakers equipped with vertical effects drivers are also included. Naturally, the LG S95TR soundbar benefits from the WOW Orchestra and WOWCAST technologies.

The LG S95TR soundbar stands out from competitors with its up-firing driver that enhances the vertical dimension of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks and improves dialogues. It comes with a powerful bass-reflex subwoofer and two wireless surround speakers with up-firing drivers.

The LG S95TR soundbar is the only model on the market to be equipped with an up-firing central driver that significantly improves the verticality of the front soundstage. The manufacturer has also improved the tweeters to ensure greater clarity and precision. The passive radiator enriches the lows, optimizing the balance between the soundbar and subwoofer.

Last but not least, the LG S95TR soundbar now boasts a matte finish, which effectively reduces reflections when placed just below the TV screen.

LG SG10TY: a master of integration

A descendant of the famous LG GX, the LG SG10TY soundbar is designed to be the perfect companion for high-end LG OLED TVs, such as the ultra-slim LG OLED G3 models and their successors, the future LG OLED G4s. The slimline profile of the LG SG10TY soundbar is a perfect match for these televisions, which are designed to be wall-mounted (delivered without a base). Their matching designs result in a very appealing look when both are wall-mounted.

The LG SG10TY soundbar’s design perfectly matches the LG 2024 TVs, notably the future LG OLED G4 models.

WOWCAST makes integration even easier by providing a wireless audio connection, even with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks, without any visible cables between the screen and soundbar.

LG SG10TY: designed for LG QNED TVs

Ideal for use with LG QNED TVs, the new LG S70TY soundbar has a sleek, compact design. It, too, features an up-firing center driver for enhanced voice clarity. Its design has been carefully studied to match that of the LG QNED 2024 TVs. The manufacturer even plans to offer an optional bracket that allows the soundbar to be installed right under the QNED TV, perfectly centered and at the ideal height. This LG soundbar bracket is also an ideal integration solution when wall-mounting the TV, as it avoids the need to drill additional holes for the soundbar.

The new 2024 LG soundbars should offer a premium home theater experience with exceptional immersion, optimized wireless features and a design that perfectly matches that of the 2024 LG TVs. I like to watch films with my family on the big screen, either at the movie theater or at home, but I also enjoy listening to music on a good hi-fi system, sat in a comfy armchair or on a walk with a pair of headphones.
