As a specialist in portable speakers, JBL is equipping its new turntable with an aptX HD-compatible Bluetooth transmitter. The JBL Spinner BT is highly adaptive, capable of being combined with an amplifier, a connected speaker or a Bluetooth speaker. This audiophile model also features an aluminum tonearm. Here’s an overview of this belt-driven model.
A Bluetooth aptX HD compatible turntable
The JBL Spinner BT turntable from the American manufacturer combines the charm of analog sound with the modernity of wireless transmission. It incorporates a Bluetooth transmitter compatible with the aptX HD codec. This protocol ensures uncompressed transmission of the audio stream at up to 24-bit/48kHz to compatible Bluetooth headphones or connected speakers. With this turntable, you can enjoy vinyl records at any time of the day or night, without disturbing the neighbors, and wirelessly stream music to a Bluetooth-compatible speaker.
High-quality design
In addition to its wireless connectivity, the JBL Spinner BT turntable features high-quality components. Its tonearm is made of aluminum, like the direct-drive JBL TT350 model. This material isolates the Audio Technica AT3600L cartridge from the internal resonances and vibrations inherent in a belt drive system. This turntable, unveiled at CES 2023, also features a speed sensor to minimize the vibration of the belt-driven aluminum platter.
An adaptive turntable
The practical JBL Spinner BT Bluetooth turntable features a switchable phono preamplifier. This allows the turntable to be directly connected to the auxiliary input of an amplifier that doesn’t have a phono input. This makes it a truly upgradeable solution, since the preamp can be bypassed to form a complete audio system with an external phono preamplifier stage. What’s more, the headshell is removable for easy cartridge replacement.
Available on Son-Vidéo for 399 euros, the JBL Spinner BT turntable represents a flexible solution for enjoying your vinyl collection. With an elegant and modern design, it comes in a choice of two finishes: gold or orange.
