LG OLED TV 2024 lineup: new XXL 4K and gaming TVs!

LG has just unveiled its latest LG OLED C4 and LG OLED G4 TV ranges. On the menu: a new OLED Meta 2.0 panel, more luminosity, new processors and 144Hz 4K gaming… A leader for 11 years in the OLED TV market, LG finds itself in competition with Panasonic and Philips, to whom the LG Display subsidiary sells OLED panels, as well as Samsung and Sony, who offer TVs with the ultra-bright QD-OLED technology developed by Samsung Display. If the Korean manufacturer is to maintain its position as market leader, its new LG OLED 2024 TVs will have to perform even better than their predecessors.

The 2024 LG OLED TVs have the following features in common:

• Picture: HDR10 and Dolby Vision IQ compatibility, new processor with artificial intelligence.
• Gaming: HDMI 2.1 VRR ports (G-Sync/ FreeSync) compatible with 144Hz 4K (except the 97″ G4) / Response time: 0.1 ms / 120Hz 4K Dolby Vision Gaming.

LG OLED C4: the benchmark OLED TV

Intended to replace the Korean manufacturer’s flagship range, the highly popular LG OLED C3 TV series (2023), the LG OLED C4 series has the same key elements while offering a few evolutions. LG OLED evo technologies, including Brightness Booster, are used to boost image brightness. The LG OLED C4 range features a new α9 AI 4K Gen7 processor and has been certified by the independent Intertek laboratory for its complete coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and the accuracy of the colors displayed.

All HDMI ports on LG OLED C4 TVs are now 4K 144Hz compatible, with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync functions. Dolby Vision Gaming 4K 120 fps is still available, as are QMS (Quick Media Switching VRR), ALLM and the game optimizer menu. With their almost instantaneous response time of 0.1 ms, LG OLED C4 TVs will be a firm favorite for gamers, both on PC and console, especially the 42″/106cm and 48″/121cm models.

As for audio, the LG OLED C4 range optimizes synergy with compatible LG soundbars to make the two devices work in symbiosis, offering the most precise and immersive sound possible. While the WOW Interface function controls the soundbar from the TV screen, WOW Orchestra technology enables the TV and LG soundbar drivers to coordinate to enhance immersion. Finally, with the WOWCAST technology integrated into the manufacturer’s TVs and soundbars, you can enjoy excellent immersive sound quality in Dolby Atmos, wirelessly.

LG OLED G4

The successor to the LG OLED G3 premium TV range (2023), the LG OLED G4 range is intended to be the manufacturer’s top performer in 2024. Still designed to be wall mounted (support provided), it has an ultra-thin design to blend in with the decor.

In addition to its specific design, this LG OLED G4 range is distinguished by the adoption of a second-generation META OLED panel enhanced by MLA (micro-lenses designed to increase brightness), except for the 97″ model. Combined with Brightness Booster Max technology, it delivers images that are 70% brighter than a standard OLED panel, with brightness peaks up to 150% higher on small, very bright objects against a dark background. The LG OLED G4 range is now equipped with a special processor for optimized images and sound. Called the α11 AI Processor 4K, it is the most powerful LG has ever designed for its TVs, and it maximizes the use of artificial intelligence.

This new LG OLED G4 range incorporates the anti-glare filter from the previous range, effectively reducing light pollution in a brightly lit room, without compromising image brightness and contrast, or the accuracy of the colors displayed.

Note that LG offers a range of optional stands specifically for LG OLED G4 TVs, if you don’t want to wall-mount them. The stands for the LG OLED55G4 and LG OLED65G4 even offer the option of adjusting the screen height to two positions, depending on whether or not you wish to place a soundbar in front of the TV.
