Paris Audio Video Show 2022: highlights


The fifth edition of the Paris Audio Video Show took place on November 5, 6 and 7, 2022 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. It is at this iconic site that the largest French hi-fi and home theater show set up shop for a weekend under the exceptional patronage of Jean-Michel Jarre. For the occasion, the French electronic music pioneer presented his brand new album: Oxymore.

The first weekend of November was punctuated by presentations, concerts and shows at the Paris Audio Video Show.

This year, more than 350 brands gathered at the Palais des Congrès to present their wares to many sound and image enthusiasts. There were exceptional systems from Elipson, Klipsch, Focal and Yamaha, demonstrations, conferences, but also world exclusive presentations. In between two demonstrations, visitors could enjoy concerts or shows, and even be part of the audience of the INSIDE Son-vidé live broadcast! More than ever, the PAVS show is a must-attend event for all fans of technology, hi-fi and home theater!

A place for manufacturers and the general public to meet, the PAVS 2022 was the opportunity to find all your favorite brands. There was a wide range of audio and video equipment, from headphones to speakers, turntables, televisions, videoprojectors,AV receivers and hi-fi amplifiers.

PAVS 2022: a resounding success

For this edition, the PAVS took place in the heart of the iconic Palais des Congrès in Paris, which offered an exhibition space of 5500m², almost double that of 2021. The return to this legendary site marked a record attendance, with over 10,800 visitors, 1,300 professionals and nearly 200 journalists. The Paris Audio Video Show 2022 was the unmissable event for all image and sound enthusiasts.

For this 5th edition, the PAVS 2022 was held in the heart of the Palais des Congrès in Paris, the ancestral home of French hi-fi shows.

Like the 2021 Paris Audio Video Show,the goal of the show was still to “offer a new experience combining an educational approach for the general public and a major event in France for audiovisual professionals.” Mission accomplished for this new edition thanks to the presence of many visitors who came with their families. Moreover, almost 12% of attendees were professionals.

Highlights of the 2022 Paris Audio Video Show

Rich in innovations, the Paris Audio Video Show 2022 allowed visitors to discover many new headphones and IEMs, new speakers, but also the best of connected hi-fi. The iconic TVs and soundbars presented at PAVS 2022 stood alongside the best projectors. Finally, it was possible to enter the vinyl world with all the vinyl news discovered at PAVS 2022.

In addition, visitors interested in car audio could discover six vehicles equipped with systems from Focal, KEF, Sonus Faber and Bowers & Wilkins.

Paris Audio Video Show 2022: events and special guest

In addition to the stands of the various brands specialized in hi-fi and home theater, musical animations were proposed by Yamaha, Klipsch and In addition, the “SV Tour” provided a guided tour of the show by the Son-Vidé specialists. Enough to enjoy every inch of the largest hi-fi and home theater exhibition in France!

This exceptional edition also had a renowned guest. The 2022 edition of the Paris Audio Video Show had the immense honor to welcome Jean-Michel Jarre as its sponsor. French electronic music pioneer, the artist presented his new album “OXYMORE” released on October 21. Entirely conceived in 3D multichannel and Dolby Atmos spatialized sound, this immersive album could be listened to in the Marantz and Sony auditoriums. The icing on the cake, Jean-Michel Jarre signed copies of his album at the OXYMORE booth, where visitors could also discover a binaural version, in partnership with French manufacturer Focal.

Inside Son-Vidé

The sponsor of this edition was also PP Garcia’s guest for the Inside Son-Vidé show. And it was even possible to be part of the audience during these PAVS special episodes! The show welcomed many columnists and guests to talk about music, technology, hi-fi and home theater.

On the program of this live show, available for replay on the Son-Vidé YouTube channel: exclusive interviews of many brands, but also previews of equipment. The set, located in the center of the show, was watched massively on site, but also remotely with 326,275 minutes viewed.

This space was then invested by many artists, notably the UNI’SON collective. The latter featured an urban dance show and two concerts by The Atomic Cocktail Quartet.

Brand anniversaries at the 2022 Paris Audio Video Show

The Paris Audio Video Show 2022 was also the opportunity for many brands to celebrate their anniversaries with limited edition equipment. British brand NAD celebrated its 50th anniversary with the NAD C3050 LE hi-fi amp, limited to 1972 copies. Audio-Technica celebrated its 60th anniversary with the release of a fully transparent turntable! Technics celebrated the 50th birthday of the Technics SL-1200 turntable. Finally, a visit to Pro-Ject’s booth, who was celebrating its 30th anniversary, allowed us to admire the sublime Pro-Ject Metallica Limited Edition turntable.

The NAD C3050 LE amp, a limited edition model designed to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, was present on the British brand’s booth.

Sony’s videoprojection branch celebrated its 50th anniversary, a birthday shared with the French Hi-Res streaming platform Qobuz, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Finally, a special 300 issue edition of the magazine Les Années Laser rounds off this list of celebrations.

Exceptional systems

Exceptional systems were on display, with, for the first time in France, the Focal Grande Utopia speakers and Naim Statement amplifier. Also present were the flagship speakers of the American manufacturer Klipsch, the Klipsch Jubilees, and the excellent Elipson Infinite system. The French company Advance Paris also exhibited its new connected amplifier: the Advance Paris My Connect 250. In addition, the new Cabasse Rialto connected speakers and those of the Cabasse The Pearl range were also demonstrated.

Visitors were able to listen to the new headphones of the French brand: the Focal Utopia 2022 (discover the review of Focal Utopia 2022) and the Focal Bathys (read the review of the Focal Bathys). The English brand KEF also exhibited the KEF Mu7, and the German manufacturer Sennheiser took the opportunity to show the Sennheiser Momentum 4.
